Study

KooeeZ's study methodology is based on spaced repetition, and offers 3 decks of cards: cards to evaluate, learning cards, and cards to review, making it easy for you to choose what you want to study first, or at different times of the day. You can set the daily default number of cards to evaluate and cards to review in the template settings.

Cards are first viewed from the deck to evaluate, and put into the learning deck if the knowledge is not acquired (click ), or into the cards to deck to review if you think you will answer the card the day after without problem (click ).

Cards from the deck to review will be reviewed at increasing intervals (from the Interval Sequence in the template settings) if you click on , or will keep the current interval if you click (meaning you found the answer, but it took a bit of time). If you cannot find the answer to a card, or it becomes very difficult, you can put it back into the learning cards deck by clicking (forgotten card).

Cards from the learning deck can be studied as many times as necessary, on the same day or following days, as long as you click on . When you think you know the card well enough to remember it the day after, then put it into the review deck with the first interval (usually 1 day) by clicking .

Reviews Intervals

You can customize a template's reviews Intervals in the template settings, and your default values (for new templates) in your Account page. See the template page for more information.

But you can adapt the reviews intervals for particular cases like this:
- Cards declared as "easy" will always skip 1 interval, and the ones declared as "very easy" will always skip 2 intervals when you click (it has a small indicator at the bottom).
- A long press on might give you some options, like skipping an interval. If the card is in the learning deck coming from the cards to review deck (forgotten card), an option will be added to go back to the same interval as before, instead of starting over the sequence.

Our Implementation

Not satisfied with other implementations, we have developed our own, more customizable.

You can choose the delays between reviews: so if you have a bad memory, or if a particular pack of cards is very difficult for you, you can choose to increase the delays very slowly, and if you have an amazing memory, or a pack has easy cards for you, you can rapidly increase the delays.

You can select the number of days so that it fits your needs. For example, you can choose multiples of 7 and subtract 1 (like 6, 13, 20, 27, etc.) for packs that you will review during weekends, this way a card studied on a Sunday will appear again on a following Saturday, instead of the middle of the week.

Separate Template Review

If you choose the template setting "Separate reviews on another button", another cards to review deck will appear at the bottom of the Study page, so that all the review cards from that template will be accessible separately. This is particularly useful if you do not want to mix these cards with other templates or packs (when you are using pack groups), e.g. for a poem (then you should choose to keep the order, too).

Pack Groups

See the Pack List page for pack groups management and use.

Bottom Left Menu on a studying card

On the question side of a studying card: you will be able to do the following:
- go back to the previous studying card if you want to correct a mistake.
- pass the card
- pass the card and all the cards from the same template
- go to the card edit page
- go to the template edit page

On the answer side, on top of the above options, you can:
- go back to the question side
- mark the card as "Hidden" (you still need to pass the card to save this setting, or the usual buttons)
- mark the card as "Marked" (can be filtered in/out on the study options popup)
- choose the level of the card (can be filtered in/out on the study options popup)

Study Options

The top right menu gives you the possibility to browse your locally studied cards in reverse order. If you want to modify some card a bit down the history, just select "Pass Card" from the bottom left menu until you reach the card you want to modify.

A long press on the deck to evaluate, learning deck or deck to review will give you more study options:
- forget the deferment days, and quotas per day
- filter on cards level, or "Marked"
- select just one template
- ...
- On the deck to review, the study options lets you see an indication of when cards are planned to be reviewed. If you have set a "Deferment days" in a template settings, those are just indicators of the default review date if no deferment days is applied, because the dates actually depends on how often you will study the cards and the intervals applied. It shows how many cards are currently blocked because of the deferment days, a number increasing indicating you should study more often or you should lower the deferment days.
