Spaced Repetition

Spaced repetition is a learning technique that involves revisiting information at increasing intervals to improve long-term retention of material. The principle is based on the spacing effect, which suggests that information is better remembered if exposure to it is spaced out over time, rather than crammed in a single session.

The method uses a schedule that strategically times the review of material to just before it is likely to be forgotten. This technique is particularly effective for language learning, such as expanding vocabulary, as well as for other educational domains requiring memorization, like medical terminology or legal definitions.
